Rema – a famous Nigerian rapper, singer and songwriter – has made history with a spectacular performance at London’s O2 Arena. In the landmark sold-out concert tagged ‘RAVAGE UPRISING’ streamed by over 40,000 people on YouTube, Rema made grand style riding on the back of a horse painted red and black. With this performance, he proved himself as the “prince of Afrobeats.”
The O2 Arena in Peninsula Square, London SE10 0DX, United Kingdom, started trending on X, previously Twitter, because of Rema’s performance. The performance marked a memorable day in Rema’s career.
Divine Ikubor, known professionally as Rema, arrived on the O2 stage in London in grand style riding on the back of a horse. Wearing a flowing black cape and donning a mask, he performed on stage.
He performed renditions of his R&B leaning records ‘Dirty’ and ‘Ginger’. He also entertained the audience by performing ‘Lady’. The Nigerian singer also interacted with his 20,000 fans who came out to see his performance.
He also performed his hit single ‘Soundgasm’. He also entertained fans with early releases of the ‘Rema EP’ and ‘Bad Commando’ EP. For his second round of performances, Rema offered the Trap version of ‘Hov’, ‘Are You There’, ‘Addicted’ and his verse from Jae5’s ‘Dimension’.
For his final performance, the Nigerian singer opened with ‘Troublemaker’ and ‘Holiday’. Later on, the Mavin Records crew performed their hit single ‘Won Da Mo’. Crayon and Ayra Starr also performed their hit collaboration ‘Ngozi’.
Rema also performed his most famous song ‘Calm Down’. He created an energetic atmosphere with his song. He also offered back-to-back hit performances with ‘Woman’, ‘Booty Bounce’, and ‘Charm’.
Recently, Rema became the first African artist to perform at the Ballon d’Or, organized by the France Football Federation. He was in the limelight throughout the year because of ‘Calm Down,’ featuring Selena Gomez. He wrote on Instagram, “Afrobeat in the Ballon d’Or, I’m truly grateful for the opportunity.”
Last month, he also partnered with Ice Spice, a popular American rapper. They released the song “Pretty Girl”, which the duo performed for the first time during Saturday Night Live’s Season 49 premiere.
