They also warned of an extension of the previous government’s term, one-sided and parallel elections.

They also underlined the September 17 election agreement and the BaidoaMoU on 16 February, and called on the Leaders to review and ratify the agreement, through compromise.

“We reaffirm our commitment to support any process of parallel elections, one-sided elections or any new initiative that could lead to any extension of the previous term,” the UN said in a statement. , EU, African Union and IGAD.

They also called on Somali leaders to put the national interest before personal interests, return to dialogue, seek compromise on contentious issues, and ensure that no action is taken that could destabilize the country. Somalia.

“We call on Somali leaders to continue the progress made in state-building, and inclusive policies, especially elections and peaceful transfer of power,” the statement said.

The United Nations, the European Union, the African Union and IGAD have said they will closely monitor the situation in Somalia.
