The Union of the Comoros Parliamentary Council received His Excellency Engineer Mustadran Abdo, President of the Federal Parliament of the Union of the Comoros, and the accompanying delegation at the Council’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday to discuss ways of strengthening parliamentary cooperation relations between the two parties.
During his reception at the Council’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi today, Tuesday, His Excellency Saqr Ghobash, President of the Federal National Council, discussed with His Excellency Engineer Mustadran Abdo, President of the Federal Parliament of the Union of the Comoros, and the accompanying delegation, ways to strengthen parliamentary cooperation relations between the two parties, through the exchange of visits and the enhancement of coordination and consultation on various issues of common interest.
The meeting emphasised the importance of the growing relations between the two countries, which are undergoing remarkable development in the light of the unlimited support of the leaders of both countries, and the importance of advancing parliamentary relations in a way that embodies the aspirations of both parties by strengthening consultation and coordination on issues of common interest. Ambassador Saqr Ghobash highlighted the historic relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Union of the Comoros, which are enjoying continuous growth and positive cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment and development. His Excellency also stressed the importance of strengthening parliamentary cooperation relations between the two parties through visits or on the sidelines of parliamentary events such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the Arab Parliament and the Arab Parliamentary Union, in order to coordinate and unify visions and positions on various issues of common interest, and to work towards exchanging parliamentary expertise, best practices and knowledge.
In turn, Eng. Dr. Mustadran Abdou, President of the Federal Parliament of the Union of the Comoros, thanked His Excellency Saqr Ghobash for his warm welcome and generous hospitality, underlining his country’s willingness to strengthen and develop aspects of cooperation with the UAE, and praising the UAE’s approach, the principles and foundations on which it was founded, and its willingness to promote peace and stability in the region and the world.
