Cyriel Dessers has expressed his willingness to make his debut for the senior national team of Nigeria ahead of the friendlies against Algeria and Tunisia.
The Genk forward had a chat with Super Eagles Media Officer Toyin Ibitoye, where he revealed: ”Hi my fellow Nigerians, I am Cyriel Dessers, 25 years old, I’m a striker now playing in KRC Genk in Belgium.
“I’m really happy to be here, my first call-up for the Super Eagles, it’s a dream that comes true. I can’t wait to be on the pitch, play the games, to meet you the fans, and I hope to see you soon.”
Dessers had initially been invited to the Super Eagles for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches against Sierra Leone but the home and away ties couldn’t hold as scheduled due to the outbreak of the deadly Covid-19 pandemic.
Dessers finished as top scorer in the Eredivisie for the 2019-2020 season before making a switch to Belgium this summer.
