Sports: Highlands Park Sale Hits A Block!

Last updated on September 11th, 2021 at 08:24 am

The sale of Highlands Park to Tim Sukazi has hit a snag after the proprietors acquired a letter – which the Siya crew has considered – from the Premier Soccer League.

Following the story on this internet site on August 29 that the Lions of the North had offered its topflight reputation to Sukazi, owner of TS Galaxy in the second tier of SA football, the solely fantastic difficulty was for the league’s govt committee to ratify the agreement.

What regarded to also complicate the potential sale was director Sinki Mnisi’s tries to block it from going through, arguing that he had now not agreed to the decision apparently taken by means of chairman Brad Kaftel and the rest of the board.

Mnisi seems to have won spherical one! In a letter addressed to each Kaftel and Mnisi, the league’ executive committee, through attorney Michael Murphy, points out that the “transfer of the commercial enterprise does now not meet the necessities of area 112 of the Companies Act”.

With Mnisi, understood to be a 20 percentage shareholder, opposing the sale and having already proven that he is going the criminal route, the PSL now needs adequate shareholders to meet the requirements of a exceptional resolution.
