Sports: Orlando Pirates Midfielder Attracts Interest

Last updated on September 11th, 2021 at 02:43 pm

An Orlando Pirates midfielder has attracted interest from his former club, based in KwaZulu-Natal.

Following his lack of regular game-time at the Buccaneers, indications are that Siphesihle Ndlovu is on the radar of Maritzburg United, who are believed to be keen on luring him back to the club.

Maritzburg tried to sign Ndlovu on loan in January, however, were unsuccessful as they only managed to sign Tebogo Tlolane on loan from Pirates.

The Team of Choice is said to have reignited interest in the midfield strongman, according to sources.

Ndlovu has started in only five of the Buccaneers’ 23 Absa Premiership matches played to date this season.

While playing for the Pietermaritzburg outfit last season, Ndlovu made a staggering 23 starts.

The club boss told KnowAfrika, “Look, we are not talking about any players and we are not talking about anything to do with players right now.”

With Pirates reportedly interested in some players from Maritzburg, including Rushine De Reuck, Richard Ofori and Judas Moseamedi, sources have indicated that Ndlovu could be one of the players offered as a sweetener in a potential deal that includes cash and a player swap.
