William Troost-Ekong inspired Watford for a Derby victory against Derby Coumty, which was coincidentally Ekong’s first victory in the renowned Championship.

Ekong made a winning debut in the English Championship as he helped Watford to a 1-0 victory over Derby.

Ekong joined the Hornets on a long-term deal from Serie A club, Udinese.

The Nigerian was involved for 90minutes as Brazilian João Pedro curled a wonderful effort into the top corner to earn his side the decisive win.

“Happy to make my @WatfordFC debut tonight with 3 points and a clean sheet! Well done to the boys! On to the next one Wednesday🐝,” Ekong tweeted after the encounter.
