Temba Bavuma starts the preparation as South Africa qualifies for World Cup 2023

Temba Bavuma, the captain of the South African cricket team in Tests and ODI (One Day International) cricket, has started preparation as South Africa qualified for the World Cup 2023 on Tuesday.

ODI and Test captain Temba Bavuma started focusing on their preparations for the World Cup 2023 in India. Temba Bavuma said in an official statement by Cricket South Africa (CSA), “Now is the perfect opportunity for us to really focus on the World Cup from a preparation point of view, nail down our plans and brush up on areas that we feel we need to brush up on.”

The first ODI between Ireland and Bangladesh was cancelled due to heavy rain on Tuesday. Consequently, South Africa qualified for the ODI World Cup. Ireland will now play against Zimbabwe from June 18 to July 9 in the qualifier event.

Temba Bavuma also said, “It will be a major honour and privilege for me to be leading the team in my first-ever 50-over World Cup and I hope we can achieve some good things as a team.
