Top 10 Rich Politicians Of South Africa

While South Africa isn’t doing well in its economy, its politicians are minting money under the table. Here is a list of 10 top politicians with great wealth of the kinds millionaires have:

1. Cyril Ramaphosa:

He gets paid round rand about R4.2 million to be the highest paid politician in South Africa at the moment. He was already a millionaire before he joined politics and made money in his businesses too.

2.Tokyo Sexwale:

He is also known as Mosima Gabriel and one of the best-known billionaires in South Africa. He is well known as an anti-apartheid activist, a politician, and a successful entrepreneur in the mining industry.

3. Herman Mashaba:

He became a billionaire before the end of apartheid. Herman Mashaba Herman Mashaba is one of the most well-known politicians in the country who started his own political party. He is also one of the richest politicians and businessmen in Msansi and his success story is particularly inspiring.  

4. F.W de Klerk:

He is most popularly known as the last president of the previous regime, but, he was also one of the richest politicians in South Africa up until his death recently. In 2021, De Klerk was said to be worth $46m or R735 million

5. Saki Macozoma:

Making his riches through the mining business, he started his mining career at the age of 70 years. He has investments worth $71 million, which is about R1.1 billion.

6. Jacob Zuma:

He is one of the most loved and hated politicians in the country, and his name has been tied to a number of scandals. Regardless of how he made his millions, Msholozi is one of Mzansi’s richest politicians with a nett worth of $20 million (R320 million).  

7. Thabo Mbeki:

He ranks amongst the top 10 richest politicians in South Africa. The former head of state generated his wealth over a lengthy and successful political career. As of 2021, Thabo Mbeki is said to be worth around $11 million – which more or less R177.5 million depending on the exchange rate.  

8. Bulelani Ngcuka:

With a successful career in politics, which is often overshadowed by his wife, his net worth remains undisturbed at R160 million.

9. Mamphela Ramphele:

She is a renowned and respected politician, as well as a medical doctor, a former activist against apartheid, a businesswoman, and an academic. In 2011, she was named among Africa’s Richest Women.  

10. Pravin Gordhan:

An Indian settled in South Africa, he has made a name for himself in the field of politics and earned his millionaire status with business expansions. It is believed he is worth around R79.9 million ($5m).
