UAE sends fifth aid ship to Gaza Strip as part of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, The ship is carrying 5,112 tonnes of humanitarian aid to support the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, as part of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3.
The cargo includes food, shelter, medical supplies and five ambulances. The aid was coordinated with the Emirates Red Crescent, the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation and the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation. To date, total aid to Gaza has exceeded 34,000 tonnes.
As part of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, the UAE has launched a number of projects, including the creation of two field hospitals, one in Gaza and the other (known as the UAE Floating Hospital) as a floating facility off the coast of Al Arish. In addition, the UAE has set up five automated bakeries and supplied flour to eight operational bakeries in Gaza. The projects also include six desalination plants that are currently producing two million gallons of water a day, benefiting more than 600,000 people in the Gaza Strip. In addition, 53 airdrops delivered 3,623 tonnes of humanitarian aid to remote areas of Gaza as part of the ‘Birds of Goodness’ humanitarian operation.
The UAE remains committed to intensifying its efforts to ensure that aid reaches and is distributed through all available channels to alleviate the hardships faced by Palestinians in Gaza. This vast operation to deliver aid by sea, land and air reflects the UAE’s long-standing commitment to supporting the Palestinian people.
