The famous Nollywood actor and comedian needed urgent financial assistance to support his medical treatment. News about his illness was first reported in October. Since then, fans had been praying for the Nigerian actor. He had already undergone several surgeries to be alive. He needed to undertake more surgeries to live his life.
Nollywood actor Mr. Ibu is currently alive. However, he is suffering because of his battle against his illness. Recently, he has undergone a life-altering surgery to amputate one of his legs. His family said that leg amputation was important to keep him alive.

In a statement posted on the actor’s official Instagram page on Monday, the family said, “This development has been hard on us all, but we’ve had to accept it as Daddy’s new reality to keep him alive.”
He was hospitalized a few weeks ago. Last month, he shared a video on Instagram, appealing for financial help. However, his family has not disclosed the illness that led to his leg being amputated.
Nollywood actor Mr Ibu has been a part of various films. In his career, he has acted in over 200 Nollywood films, including Police Recruit (2003), Mr. Ibu (2004), Mr. Ibu 2 (2005), Mr. Ibu and His Son and Mr.Ibu in London (2005), 9 Wives (2005), Ibu in Prison (2006) and Keziah (2007).
In 2020, the Nigerian actor and comedian released his songs titled This girl and Do you know. In 2023, he revealed that he was facing health problems while on a movie set with other Nollywood actors and actresses.
The Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation paid the medical expenses of the Nollywood actor.
