He was born in Yola, Adamawa state, Nigeria, on February 1, 1985. His parents are civil servants based in Awka Anambra State.

His film “Death Of Zubby Michael” sparked rumours about his death. The story of the movie revolved around a ruler in a kingdom who tortured people. As of 2022, nothing has happened to Zubby Michael. He is still working in the Nollywood film industry.

In 2019, he was appointed as the Special Adviser on Media to the Anambra state governor, Willie Obiano.

His estimated net worth is about $9.6 million. Last year, he declared himself the richest actor in Africa. He said that he made more money than other actors.
