The three nations want to pool their resources to begin a bold undertaking that will reshape the geopolitical and economic landscape of the Sahel and the Saharan area. It is in fact a massive and ambitious project along the Atlantic coast of Mauritania and Morocco.

Therefore, the three nations will need to work together on this massive Emirati project that is being managed and will stretch along the Atlantic shores of Morocco and Mauritius. The goal of this extremely planned project is to turn these coastlines into a historic center of commerce.

King Mohammed VI of Morocco, President Mohamed Ghazouani of Mauritania and President Mohamed Ben Zayed of the United Arab Emirates recently met in Dubai to discuss this trilateral initiative which is an important step in enhancing the diplomatic and commercial connections between Morocco, Mauritania and the United Arab Emirates is this working session between the three figures. 

According to the Moroccan press, “if the negotiations are still in their infancy, the geopolitical institute Horizons is already talking about an agreement in principle. This agreement could well mark the beginning of a radical transformation of the economic landscape of the Sahel.”

The goal of the UAE, Morocco and Mauritania trilateral alliance is to make the Atlantic coast a vital trading and economic development hub.
