Last updated on September 11th, 2021 at 03:24 pm

Kenya’s Geoffrey Kamworor sliced 17 seconds off the world record at the Copenhagen Half Marathon completing the race in 58min 01sec.

Kamworor’s compatriot Abraham Kiptum held the record previously at 58:18 set in Valencia in 2018.

The 26-year-old Kenyan has won his third world half-marathon title.

Kamworor broke away from the pack and raced alone for the final 11 kilometres, defying the heavy rain to set the record..
