DR Congo international Ben Malango has received temporary clearance from Fifa to play for his Moroccan club Raja Casablanca.
The 25-year-old, who signed a three-year deal with Raja in July as a free agent, was waiting to appear for his new team after his former club TP Mazembe lodged a case with football’s governing body about the deal.
Raja said the club has now been issued with a “temporary international card” for Malango from Fifa, pending “a final examination of the case.”
It means that Malango is now free to make his debut for Raja Casablanca and can be added to the club’s squad list.
He is in contention to play in all the domestic games and could feature in the Arab Club Championship game against Hilal on Monday.
However, the forward is still not able to participate in the African Champions League until the case is settled.
Raja fans are keen to see Malango play as they see him as a perfect replacement for Moroccan striker Mouhcine Iajour who left the club to join Damac in the Saudi professional league.
