UAE has also distributed 30,000 food baskets to Sudanese refugees in Kiryandongo refugeecamp Uganda to benefit nearly 100,000 affected people.Aid is the second phase in the humanitarian campaign undertaken by the UAE in April toprovide continuous support and help to refugees affected by the on-going conflicts in Sudan.There was direct involvement of the UAE Ambassador to Uganda, Abdullah Al Shamsi in thehanding over process accompanied by Ugandan stakeholders in that ministry and civil society.The UAE has been committed to foreign aid with its most recent deployment of $100 million forhumanitarian assistance in Sudan and other nearby countries. Echoing Balam Byaruhagara,Ugandan Minister of Relief and Reconstruction in the North, the performance of the UAE waswell appreciated and appreciated the role of such aids in addressing the problem of refugees.In the future, the UAE is to increase the volume of humanitarian aid by carrying out drilling ofwater wells and construction of health facilities in the Kiryandongo camp with the purpose toupgrade living conditions of refugees. Ambassador Al Shamsi reiterated the UAE’s continuedsupport of these displaced communities until peace is attained in their home country.The show of kindness is further a reminder of the UAE’s active contribution to humanitarianissues around the world and hope to all the less fortunate in the society.
