The ongoing search for Free State police officers in Centurion resulted in the discovery of five dead bodies found in the Hennops River. Two of the discovered bodies match the description of the officers who went missing during their Bloemfontein to Limpopo journey last week, according to Deputy Police Commissioner Shadrack Sibiya.
The Free State police constables Cebekhulu Linda and Keamogetswe Buys together with Boipelo Senoge disappeared during their journey toward their assignment area on Wednesday. The medical evidence established that this event took place on the N1 highway by the Hennops River bridge.
Athlenda Mathe confirmed the search operations from yesterday discovered two dead bodies after finding the first victim. The search continued this morning. The police force continues looking for the missing VW Polo auto within their designated search zone as the car still cannot be found.
Special teams working according to a planned recovery method continue their search through the extensive river territory. Marital relatives of the missing police officers have traveled to Pretoria, where they participate in investigator briefings throughout ongoing search operations for their third officer.
