HBO has announced a reboot of the famous Harry Potter series, which will bring the wizarding world back to life. This new adaptation will be a long-form TV series instead of a movie, which will let us learn more about the characters, subplots, and the magical world that J.K. Rowling created.
The project is planned to last for almost ten years, with each season focusing on one book.
The date of release and the plan for episodes
The first season, which is based on Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, will begin on December 25, 2026. It will have eight episodes, which will be the start of a big plan for long-term storytelling.
The same studio that made the first movies, Leavesden Studios, started production in July 2025. This gave the new movie a sense of continuity while also giving it a new vision.
