AFCON 2023: Africa Cup Of Nations 2023 Kicks Off With Intense Competition

The Africa Cup of Nations 2023, also called AFCON 2023, is happening in Côte d’Ivoire from January 13 to February 11. It’s a big football event in Africa. Senegal won the last time, and now teams are competing again.

The games have started with some surprises. Ivory Coast won against Guinea-Bissau, and Nigeria tied with Equatorial Guinea. Egypt, led by famous player Mohamed Salah, managed a late tie with Mozambique. Cape Verde surprised everyone by beating Ghana.

There are six groups with four teams each. The best teams from these groups will move to the next round, called the Round of 16. Teams from all over Africa, like Morocco, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Algeria, and Nigeria, are playing hard to win.

In Group A, Ivory Coast is leading now. They beat Guinea-Bissau. Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea have the same points because they tied their game.
