Al-Ahly has won their ninth African club champions league by beating Zamalek (2-1) in Cairo, Al-Ahly are therefore the most successful African side in the competition.
The evening out came from a left shot from Shikabala (31st), the conservative of Zamalek, and a ball caused by the bar to enter the pen of the worldwide Mohamed al-Shenawy.
For the greater part of the match, Zamalek ruled and applied steady tension on al-Ahly’s players, because of Shikabala, Mostafa Mohamed and Morocco’s Ashraf Bencharki.
Al-Ahly was strained for quite a while and Zamalek botched a few decent opportunities to start to lead the pack right off the bat in the subsequent half, for example, a shot from Mostafa Mohamed all around halted by Shenawy and another from separation, however on the post, from Ahmed Sayed “Zizo” (65th).
Al-Ahly later scored the winning goal late in the game to defeat Zamalek their Egyptian counterpart, they have qualified to play in the FIFA club world cup.
