Facebook To Allow Up To Five Profiles Tied To One Account

Facebook is introducing ways for users to maintain up to five profiles tied to one account, which is a major shift from the “real name” requirement. Meta Platforms Inc has confirmed this news.

Meta’s flagship social network Facebook reportedly said that this change will help people tailor their experience based on interests and relationships. Meta said that people can post different types of content aimed at family versus friends.

According to Meta, each user can have only one Facebook account, which means the main profile will be the person’s real name. The user will be able to access any additional profiles they create after logging in to that account. In its statement, Meta said its rules against impersonation and other types of misleading representations of identity would continue to apply to each profile. Meta Platforms Inc is the parent organisation of Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram.
