Ghanaian Striker John Antwi Sets New Record in Egypt

Ghanaian striker, John Antwi became the first foreigner to score for three different Egyptian sides in the CAF Club Competitions.

The former El Makassa forward registered his name in the ongoing CAF Confederations cup preliminary qualifies when he scored a brace for FC Pyramids as they defeated Etoile du Congo 4-1 at home.

It took the striker 12 minutes to make a difference in the game when he broke the deadlock before adding his second midway into the first half to give the Egyptians a convincing win before recess.

The goals however mean Antwi has become the first foreigner to score for three different Egyptian sides in the CAF Club Competitions namely Al-Ahly, El Makassa & FC Pyramids.

Antwi also doubles as the foreigner with most goals in Egypt with more than 50 goals credited to his name after seven years in Egypt.

John Antwi left El Makassa for FC Pyramids for $1.5 million on 1st August.
