How to hide WhatsApp chat without using the archive feature?

WhatsApp Inc launches various features for the safety of the user. WhatsApp has many features that are not known by many users. You would be surprised to know that you can hide WhatsApp chat without using the archive feature. This can be easily done. 

Generally, people hide a message on WhatsApp by archiving the chat. The drawback of this feature is that a person cannot receive any notification when a new message is sent from that chat. To solve this issue, you can hide WhatsApp chat without using the archive feature.

How to hide WhatsApp chat on iPhone

  1. Open WhatsApp on your iPhone
  2. Click on ‘Settings’ on the bottom right
  3. Select the ‘Privacy’ option
  4. Select the ‘Screen Lock’ option
  5. ‘Require Face ID’ or ‘Require Touch ID’ will pop up on the screen
  6. Enable the toggle
  7. You will see four choices: Immediately, After 1 minute, After 15 minutes, After 1 hour
  8. Click one of the above choices
  9. Now, Face ID or Touch ID will be required to unlock WhatsApp

How to hide WhatsApp chat on Android

  1. Open WhatsApp on your Android phone
  2. Go to ‘Settings’
  3. Click on the three dots on the top right of the app
  4. Go to ‘Privacy’
  5. Go to the ‘Account’ option
  6. Click on the ‘Fingerprint Lock’ option
  7. Click on the ‘Unlock with Fingerprint’ option
  8. The ‘Set up Fingerprint’ option will pop up on the screen
  9. Click on ‘Ok’
  10. You will see four choices: Immediately, After 1 minute, After 15 minutes, After 1 hour
  11. Click one of the above choices
  12. You can decide how much time the app should be locked

It is important to note that you have to first set up a fingerprint on your device to use this feature. You have to enable fingerprints on your device.
