Mali: Soumaïla Cissé Passes Away From Covid-19

Prominent Malian opposition leader, Soumaïla Cissé has sadly died from Covid-19 on Friday, the late opposition leader died in France, his family members made this known to a reliable source.

Cissé was captured on March 25 by unidentified shooters while he was lobbying for the authoritative races in the district of Timbuktu (North-West).

He was delivered in October, following a half year of imprisonment in the possession of jihadists.

He was liberated simultaneously as the French resident Sophie Pétronin and two Italians, in return for 200 prisoners delivered in line with the jihadist gatherings.

Cissé later regained his freedom, he was known for his strong criticism of the government authorities in Mali. Cisse sadly passed away from the novel coronavirus at the age of 71.
