Microsoft South Africa collaborates with Afrika Tikkun to launch ICT Academy

The Afrika Tikkun youth development agency has teamed up with Microsoft South Africa to launch the ICT Academy – Going Mobile initiative in Olievenhoutbosch. The initiative is designed to empower unemployed young people by equipping them with ICT skills, so that they can pursue a career in the technology sector.

Leading youth development agency Afrika Tikkun has announced that it has partnered with Microsoft South Africa to launch the ICT Academy – Going Mobile initiative in Olievenhoutbosch. Designed to empower currently unemployed young people by equipping them with essential information and communication technology (ICT) skills, the program will enable them to take the next step in their careers. 

This, according to the program, will enable them to forge sustainable careers in the rapidly evolving technology sector. 

Running until June 2025, the initiative aims to address the pressing issue of youth unemployment in South Africa.

Through hands-on training and real-world application, they add, participants will gain access to crucial technical skills that can pave the way to opportunities in ICT and beyond.

The commitment of Microsoft goes beyond technological progress. According to the company, it is committed to building and operating data centers that not only foster technological innovation, but also address societal challenges.
