1. Mauritius

According to the Global Peace Index, Mauritius has achieved a high level of economic stability. Mauritius is among the list of ten most peaceful countries in Africa. Mauritius is ranked the 28th most peaceful country in the world.

2. Ghana

Ghana is the second most peaceful country in Africa in 2024. Ghana is successful in maintaining peace due to its political stability. Violent crimes occur rarely in the country. The strong point of the country is safe communities.

3. Botswana

Botswana is a landlocked country in Southern Africa. It is the 41st most peaceful country in the world. The country enjoys a low level of political terror. Corruption is also rare in politics. The country is home to numerous animals including giraffes, cheetahs, hyenas and wild dogs.

4. Sierra Leone

Sierra Leone is now one of the most peaceful countries in Africa because of the help from the British military and the United Nations. Between 1991 and 2002, a civil war affected the country, killing people. However, the British military and the United Nations intervened to bring peace to the country.

5. Gambia

The Gambia is one of the most peaceful countries in Africa in 2024. The Gambia is reasonably safe for tourists. In recent years, the country has improved its overall rating. However, be wary of robbery.

Tanzania is one of the most peaceful countries in Africa in 2024. The country does not involve itself in conflict based on race, religion, ethnicity, or politics. In recent years, the country has become one of the best destinations for tourists.

8. Namibia

Namibia is a country in southwest Africa. It is the world’s 62nd most peaceful country. In 1990, Namibia declared independence from South Africa. Since then, the country has enjoyed political stability.

9. Equatorial Guinea

Equatorial Guinea is a Central African country known for its prosperous oil industry. The country is also ranked 68th among the world’s most peaceful countries. Since its independence in 1968, Equatorial Guinea has had only two presidents.
