NEWS: At least six people killed in clashes in Ivory Coast

At least six human beings have now been killed in three days of clashes in Ivory Coast as protestors took to the streets following President Alassane Ouattara’s choice to run for a 1/3 term this October

Four human beings had died in two days of clashes in the central town of Daoukro and the southern town of Bonoua on Wednesday and Thursday. Another dying happened in Daoukro late on Thursday, and but every other on Saturday when a forty five 12 months old standing protect with young men from a neighboring town bought shot.

Violence has now spread to the northern metropolis of Gagnoa in accordance to safety authorities.

WHY ARE THERE CLASHES?

President Ouattara, introduced last week that he would contest the October 31 presidential elections, a move that got here after his anointed successor Prime Minister Amadou Gon Coulibaly died of a coronary heart attack.

The announcement sparked fury amongst Ouattara’s critics, as he has already served two phrases and can solely contest a third via arguing that a constitutional alternate entitles him to reset the clock.
