Kanayo O Kanayo, a famous Nigerian actor and lawyer who won the African Movie Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in the film Family Battle, has expressed disapproval of the growing BBL (Brazilian butt lift) trend among women.
In his Instagram post, he shared the case of a young woman whose lover abandoned her after she became infected during the BBL treatment. He wrote on Instagram, “A friend in the US told me of how a patient, a beautiful Christian lady, came into the hospital after the bum bum enlargement with an infection. And her boyfriend who forced her to go through that surgery came into the ward and ran out.” He further revealed that the woman died because of the infection.
The veteran actor further said, “Bum Bum enlargement is like a boyfriend/ girlfriend relationship in Secondary School, not up to the 3% end in marriage. Sadly, this Bum thing, many of the ladies do not end as wives.”

He also proceeded to slam any boyfriend who would encourage his daughter to undergo BBL. He urged women not to opt for such procedures. He questioned women why to bear such pain in the pursuit of beauty, asserting that the procedure is not worthy. The actor went on to slam women who undergo BBL surgeries on the encouragement of their boyfriends.
The actor said, “Anybody in the name of a boyfriend who will cause my daughter Uloaku to do bumbum enlargement, holy ghost thunder! May Amadioha from Igbo land combined with Ogun from Ijebu Ode kill that person.”
The Nigerian actor made his debut with the film ‘Living in Bondage’. In his career, he featured in more than 100 films. He was also honoured by the government during the centenary celebration in 2014.
