Rain Halts Australia vs South Africa Champions Trophy Match in Rawalpindi

The cricket match between South Africa and Australia at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will start later due to wet weather conditions. A steady rain continued to fall so officials kept tarpaulins over the playing field and surface according to the predicted wet weather.

Both Australia and South Africa arrive at the match fresh from successful tournament debut games. In the Champions Trophy, Australia achieved a new record by scoring 352 runs against England to win in Lahore while Josh Inglis’s batting helped him create his first century as a wicketkeeper-batsman.

Since their three frontline fast bowlers are unavailable the Australians earn special credit for their first win. South Africa achieved total dominance in their match against Afghanistan in Karachi with a 107-run result as Ryan Rickelton secured his first ODI hundred with 315-6 total runs.

New Zealand and India remain locked into the semifinals since they won against Pakistan and Afghanistan. Both Australia and South Africa need results from this match to advance further in the tournament. Australia and South Africa return to play because they aim to secure their winning records from group B.
