According to Jowhar media, government spokesman Mohamed Ibrahim Maalimuu said a meeting between the federal government and regional governments will take place in Mogadishu this week.

The conference was called off on the 1st of this month by the outgoing President Mohamed AbdullahiFarmajo, and was the third conference he announced since February 8th.

Government spokesman Mohamed Ibrahim Maalimuu said Prime Minister Roble was ready to resume talks with the Union of Candidates, which broke down on Thursday.

“His Excellency Mohamed Hussein Roble, Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, is always ready to continue his dialogue with the Somali Presidential Candidates in general and in particular, in order to reach an agreement and the country to go to the polls.” said Mohamed Ibrahim Maalim

Meanwhile, Somali regional administration leaders are expected to arrive in the Somali capital Mogadishu in the next 72 hours to resume talks with the TFG, according to sources close to the Somali government.

This latest series of efforts made by the representatives of the international community in Somalia.

The conference of the Heads of the Federal Government of Somalia and the State Governments of the country is expected to finalize the Agreement of 17 September 2020 which sets out important procedures for the country’s elections.

According to some reports, Jubbaland President Ahmed Madobe will arrive in Mogadishu tomorrow, while Puntland President Said AbdullahiDani will arrive on Tuesday, and the conference is set to open this weekend.

However this conference is the third, and several meetings called by the illegitimate president Farmajo have already failed. There are still no clear predictions for an election as the incumbent government has been in office for almost 30 days.
