Babes and Mampintsha’s personal life has hogged headlines ever since a video of Mampintsha slapping the gqom star several times went viral.
Despite the assault case still hanging over their heads, the pair seem to have left that behind them.
In their first interview together since the debacle, Babes told Ukhozi FM’s Lady D that it is time for people to forgive Mampintsha
Even though they were coy to go into too much detail about their romantic relationship since the fiasco, they giggled during the interview and the mood seemed lighthearted.
The pair who call themselves Bonnie and Clyde also promoted their new music and thanked fans for the love.
“We are very grateful for the love we get. It’s very clear that people love us. I mean, when things happen and they hear that we are involved, everything stops,” Babes said.
Mampintsha went on to advise fans to treat women with value
“We are grateful for the understanding and I just wanna say to them, without saying too much, let us watch our behaviours and treat these women like the valuable people they are.”
The record label boss explained that he’s been feeling “closed out” and even his music hasn’t been getting the same kind of love it used to.
He explained that he tried to make his music more inclusive to resolve the issue.
It was then that Babes asked people to forgive Mampintsha.
“Yeah, it’s enough now, forgive him already.”
Last week they sent the internet into a frenzy when Babes shared a racy video of them in a hot tub together in celebration of Mampintsha’s birthday
“Happy birthday. I love you Mampintsha,” she captioned it.
The pair will be back in court on July 9 over the assault case which has been referred to Families South Africa for mediation.
