Leon Balogun has hinted that he will love to play with Rangers teammate Joe Aribo for the Super Eagles and in the same breathe revealed his biggest World Cup frustration.
The former Brighton defender, who just recovered from injury, was included in Gernot Rohr’s list of players to face Algeria and Tunisia in friendlies scheduled for Austria on October 9 and 13 respectively but Aribo was missing from the squad.
“I haven’t played with Joe but I was there for his first call-up,” he said. “The reaction to him was so positive and you can see his qualities. He is strong, intelligent and skilful and if you score goals for Nigeria they will speak about you positively. I think he will do well for us.”
Balogun joined Rangers on a year-deal from premier league side Brighton.
