Strengthening UAE-Central African Relations: Key Talks Held

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held talks with President Faustin Archange Touadéra of the Central African Republic through a phone call to bolster cooperation in different sectors particularly in trade, investments, renewable energy and infrastructure today March 28th 2025. 

President Touadéra expressed gratitude by taking X stating, “I thank my brother, President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, for his warm and fraternal call. We reaffirmed our commitment to strengthening our relations. May Allah bless this brotherhood.”

The two leaders signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) on March 6th 2025 when President Touadéra visited Abu Dhabi which is expected to increase bilateral trade by AED 3.67 billion in the seven years from signing among other outcomes. UAE Minister Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi pointed out that the CEPA eliminates tariffs on over 98% of goods exported from the UAE and strengthens economic cooperation between the nations.

The two leaders also exchanged perspectives on regional and international developments. They noted that political stability and economic resilience are important to the region and their efforts to align with events that can mutually concern them on global matters.
