A fuel tanker truck exploded Thursday in Nigeria’s Lagos State, injuring at least 15 people, incinerating quite a few cars and razing a number of buildings, local media reported.

The incident happened at a bus end in the Ifako-Ijaiye nearby authorities area, the local Premium Times internet site reported.

“A further investigation printed that an unknown truck conveying fuel had an accident and exploded,” the internet site quoted the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) as pronouncing in a statement.

“The impact of the explosion led to a fireplace at adjoining buildings, and various automobiles have been burnt…Several humans had been injured and have been taken to the nearest health center for treatment,” it added.

The explosion befell while the tanker truck was trying to enter a gas plant in the area, Ibrahim Farinloye, an reputable at LASEMA, was once quoted as saying.
