Riyad Mahrez powered Alegria to the quarter-final of the AFCON tournament after a 3-0 win over Guinea in the second round.
Guinea remained composed on the ball with their swift pass around the Algerians but in the 20th minute of the clash a superb cross was delivered to Baghdad Bounedjah but the Algerian attacker lathed the ball over the crossbar.
Guinea was fortunate not to concede after Guinea goalkeeper was forced into numerous saves but he was unable to hold Youcef Belalia’s shot in the 24th minute.
Riyad Mahrez almost doubled the lead but he was closed down by the Syli Nationale defenders after he beat two of his opponents to the ball.
The half time ended 1-0 in favour of the Desert Foxes.
The second half saw a gradual build up from both teams but in the 55th minute Mady unleashed a shot against the Algeria defence but the the goalkeeper was on point to make a save.
Mahrez sliced the defence to slot in the second goal in the 57th minute for Algeria as the West African team were made to chase the ball.
Algeria got the third goal in the 82nd minute after a fine move that was well executed by Ounas, with just eight minutes to go.
With the3-0 win Algeria book a place in the last eight of the tournament.
