Tastic Rice and David Tlale earlier this week, hosted an exclusive lunch at Le Chatelat in Sandhurst, in celebration of the historic movement that crowned the 9th of August Women’s Day.
With a theme inspired by the heritage both brands hold in South Africa, Tastic Rice and David Tlale invited phenomenal women from all walks of life to share their inspirational journeys while appreciating the rich sense of culture that each personality adds to the colourful canvas of South Africa.
Many of the guests attended with women that they value and who have been central in moulding them into the people they are today. David Tlale and TV hosts Lalla Hirayama and Mbali Nkosi all attended with their mothers. Other guests such as TV personality Khanyi Mbau and musician Brenda Mtambo also attended the event in celebration of Women’s Day.
“As a heritage brand, Tastic has seen the evolution of South African society and the role women have played in that evolution,” says Thembi Sehloho, Marketing Director for Rice and Pasta at Tiger Brands South Africa.
“Our collaboration with David in celebration of Women’s Day seemed fitting as it gave two iconic brands the opportunity to celebrate the phenomenal women who have played such a big role in the growth of our society and our brands. We regard them as phenomenal because they remain true to their values with the understanding that the success of all women in the future relies on the steps we all take every day to make each generation better than the last” adds Sehloho.
In addition to the guests in attendance, the star of the day was the deliciously playful menu of Tastic Rice dishes, curated by celebrity chef, Chef Nti, in collaboration with David Tlale.
From the canapes all the way through to the dessert; each course allowed guests to be taken on a sensory journey where each grain revealed the life behind the perfectly cooked meal. Guests enjoyed an array of Tastic inspired dishes while Ntokozo Mbambo sang touching renditions of classic South African songs, setting the tone for an intimate and engaging afternoon.
