Law enforcement officials in South Africa have reported that nine individuals were killed on Saturday night as a result of separate shooting events that occurred in two of the country’s provinces. As a result, police in South Africa are actively searching for those responsible for the shootings. In a nation that already has one of the worst murder rates in the world, the most recent spate of shootings comes on the heels of an upswing in deaths caused by acts of violence.
In the Thembelihle informal settlement, which is located in the southern suburbs of Johannesburg, there was a shooting that resulted in the injuries of four people and the shooting deaths of four more. According to a statement released by the authorities, the preliminary investigation indicates that a group of guys were playing dice on a street corner when they were ambushed by unknown gunmen who shot at them. The attack took place at approximately 7:30 p.m. (17:30 GMT) on Saturday.
