Twitter’s Head Of Trust And Safety Resigns

Ella Irwin, who was working at Twitter’s head of trust and safety, has resigned from the popular social media company, according to a report. 

Ella Irwin joined Twitter in June 2022. She took over the role of head of the trust and safety team at Twitter after five months when Yoel Roth resigned. She took care of content moderation of the micro-blogging site. On Thursday, Irwin told Reuters to resign from the post. Earlier, Fortune said that Irwin’s internal Slack account was deactivated. 

In recent months, Twitter has come into the limelight. Elon Musk, one of the richest men in the world, acquired Twitter in October 2022. Since then, Twitter has been making headlines. Twitter also faced criticism for lax protections against harmful and unsuitable content.

Last month, Elon Musk named Linda Yaccarino, former NBCUniversal advertising chief, as Twitter’s new CEO (Chief Executive Officer). She would oversee business operations at the social media company. Musk will act as the chief technology officer (CTO) of Twitter. 

Reportedly, Musk aims to transform Twitter into the Everything app. He said, “Looking forward to working with Linda to transform this platform into X, the everything app.”

Elon Musk has said that he works all day to run his 5 companies – Tesla, SpaceX, Twitter, The Boring Company and Neuralink. Recently, Elon Musk received approval from the United States (US) regulators to test its brain implants in people under its first-in-human clinical study.

Neuralink, an American neurotechnology company that develops implantable brain-computer interfaces, got approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), a federal agency of the US Department of Health and Human Services.
