Calm Down” was released as the second single from his debut studio album, Rave & Roses, in March 2022.

The Nigerian musician’s original version of the mid-tempo song “Calm Down” was released as the second single from his debut studio album, Rave & Roses, in March 2022.

He knew he needed to capitalise on the song’s growth after it debuted on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart two months after its release, so he enlisted Gomez to take the song to the next level.
After this collaboration, the hit became the first African track to spend a year on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the most popular single with an Afrobeats musician as the lead performer.

Now Rema is one of Africa’s world-renowned artists, alongside Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Tems, Tyla, Tito M and Arya. He is one of a new wave of African artists who are bringing the African sound, whether Afrobeats, Amapiano or Makosa, to a global audience.
