New FlySafair Flight Announced in south Africa – Route, Fare, Launch Date & Seats Explained

FlySafair has revealed a new domestic path between Cape Town and Hoedspruit which increases access to South Africa’s reputable safari destinations. This expansion not only develops FlySafair’s domestic connections but it also represents another route for tourism in general.

The new route focused on improving the network to the central Kruger region and to Limpopo province will launch on 2 October 2025. Three flights a week will operate on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The introductory fares will start at R1,570 one way but can vary depending on timing and availability. Ticket sales start in July.

Connecting Key Safari Gateways

Hoedspruit is a doorway to private game reserves and the Kruger National Park, while Mbombela formerly Nelspruit, the capital of Mpumalanga provides easier access to the park’s southern parts. FlySafair also unveiled an increase in frequency on its Cape Town – Mbombela route which will now be served daily.

Kirby Gordon, FlySafair’s Chief Marketing Officer said: “These routes will now afford direct access to two of South Africa’s loved safari destinations”.

A Boost to Domestic and International Air Travel

This launch is part of FlySafair’s overall plan to expand its footprint after the domestic airline sector was severely impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. There were conditions of growth in the industry but still facing challenges like high ticket prices and reduced carrier options.

At the same time, international carriers such as Qantas and Air France are returning seasonal routes that include direct flights to Perth and Paris resulting in over 11,000 seats weekly in and out of South Africa.
