Afreximbank’s $28,000 Prize Returns to Honor African Publishers

Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX) is running the Book Factory Prize for Publishing in Africa again to award $28,000 to African publishing excellence in 2025. From March 17 to April 30, 202,5, African publishers can apply for the competition by sending published trade books from the past year.

The $20,000 first prize goes to a winner, plus $2,000 goes to each of the four finalists selected. The campaign brings back the Book Factory Publishing Prize in Africa through a partnership with Narrative Landscape Press Limited. It continues the successful debut edition from 2023 that honored Cassava Republic Press.
