Avatar: The Way of Water is a massive hit as it has earned more than 1 billion dollars globally. The film earned 82.4 million dollars this holiday weekend in North America.
According to industry watcher Exhibitor Relations, the film made more than $1.3 billion globally. The film has also gained the title of the 15th highest global release ever in the world.
Reportedly, only a few films have passed the $1 billion mark in their first two weeks. The original “Avatar” earned around $2.9 billion globally.
In North America, Avatar: The Way of Water became a massive hit. Another family-oriented film, “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish,” a computer-animated spin-off of the popular “Shrek” franchise, also became popular in North Africa. It earned around $22 million for the Friday-to-Monday period. Disney’s “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” earned around $6.5 million. Sony’s biopic “Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance With Somebody” earned around $5.4 million. Paramount’s comedy-drama “Babylon” earned around $3.6 million.
