Elon Musk is allowing users to make money off their Twitter accounts

Elon Musk, the tech billionaire and the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of Twitter, has said that the micro-blogging platform will allow users to charge for access to their content from their long-form text and hours-long video.

On Thursday, the world’s second-richest person said that Twitter won’t be keeping any of the money users make from subscriptions for one year. Twitter users will be able to keep at least 70% of their subscription revenue on mobile.

This feature is available on the “Monetization” tab in settings. Elon Musk wrote on Twitter, “Apply to offer your followers subscriptions of any material, from long-form text to hours-long video! Just tap on “Monetization” in settings. For the next 12 months, Twitter will keep none of the money. You will receive whatever money we receive, so that’s 70% for subscriptions on iOS & Android (they charge 30%) and ~92% on the web (could be better, depending on payment processor).” However, after 12 months, Twitter will charge some amount of money depending on the work of the content.
