Tech billionaire Elon Musk owns five companies, including Tesla, SpaceX, Twitter, The Boring Company and Neuralink. He reportedly works all day long to run these five companies.
He has announced on Twitter that he works all day long. He wrote on Twitter, “I work all day, then go home & play work simulator.” He repeatedly said that he worked all day to make Twitter “Twitter 2.0” and a profitable company.
Musk acquired Twitter in October 2022. Since then, the billionaire has made several changes to the social media platform. He announced paid verification, accounts reinstatement, and golden and silver tick marks. He also fired more than 50 per cent of the staff as a part of a cost-cutting effort.
Twitter is at loss right now. Twitter also has around 2300 employees globally. Recently, Twitter auctioned bird statues, random office supplies, coffee machines, kitchen equipment and furniture. Twitter hired Heritage Global Partners to auction off random things from the Twitter headquarters. Twitter did not reveal the reason for the auction.
Twitter came into the limelight in recent months. Reportedly, the social media company did not pay millions of dollars in rent and services. Twitter also did not pay rent for two charter flights worth $197,725. Twitter was also gripped by a lawsuit because it failed to pay rent for the Hartford Building — Columbia Reit – 650 California LLC. Twitter also closed its data centre in Sacramento, California.
Reportedly, Musk can fire more employees in the coming weeks. He reportedly told Twitter staff that there would not be any more reduction in staff. However, two people at the social media firm said that Twitter would lay off 50 workers from its product division.
