Ghana’s Arrival at Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Steals Show

Ghana’s team at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in 2022 grabbed the stage with a vibrant entrance at the opening ceremony. The sportsmen arrived in a glamorous exhibition of dance and culture while dressed in their traditional kente attire.

The Ghanaian squad received the loudest cheers as the leader of the contingent raised the red, gold, green, and black flag in a video shared on social media.

Over a hundred athletes from Ghana are extensively participating in the games as they compete for gold against other Commonwealth countries.

The team’s arrival has been met with excitement by Ghana’s sole medallist from the competition four years ago in Gold Coast, who also pledged to win gold for her nation.

Tobi Amusan, the world’s best 100-meter hurdler, has revealed how her father almost put an end to her running career when she was a young child growing up in Nigeria.

Amusan broke a new global record after becoming the first Nigerian to win a gold medal at the World Athletics Championship on Sunday. Amusan claimed in a BBC interview that her mother had to protect her from her father, who burned her training equipment when he learned that she skipped church to train.
