Osimhen, 20, linked up with Lille from Belgian outfit, Sporting Charleroi this summer and has been an instant hit at the club.
The Nigeria international has helped Les Dogues fans wipe off the memory of Ivorian forward, Nicolas Pepe who dumped the club in a big money move to Arsenal this summer by scoring six goals and recording two assists in his first seven appearances for the club.
“Victor was followed by Luis Campos (Chief Scout) for a long time, he has a large margin of progress, but he still has much to offer at his young age. Our performance level remains alert to the level of fatigue of each player . At the moment, everything is fine,” Galtier told a news conference on Friday.
Galtier speaks further in glowing terms of the former VFL Wolfburg of Germany striker following his positive contribution to Lille so far..
“Victor has the ability to turn average balls into goals, he creates a lot of chances and has very high stats, we’ll see how it’s going to be, There’s no big team season, if a player does not also make a big season,” Gaitier added.
Lille will travel to Nice for their next league game on Saturday, September 28.
