Nigeria & UAE Deepen Youth Development Ties Through Strategic Bilateral Cooperation

In a landmark decision to enhance the development of youth on a global level, Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have recommitted themselves to youth development by engaging senior diplomatic level dialogues towards youth empowerment. During the meeting in Abu Dhabi, Nigeria’s Minister of Youth Development, Hon. Ayodele Olawande and the UAE’s Minister of Youth Development, Dr. Sultan Bin Saif Al Neyadi talks about advancing strategic partnerships to empower the next generation.

Shared Vision for Innovation and Skills Development

The discussions also focused on improving sustainable cooperation focusing on innovation, the creation of jobs and skills, digital capacity building and entrepreneurship. Ministers on both sides expressed the need for collaborative frameworks to allow for more youth-led initiatives and the creation of new opportunities for the youth of both countries. Hon. Olawande also replicated Nigeria’s motives to further the global partnerships, specifically in the critical areas of education connectivity, digital skills development, capacity building and the classifier international exchange soaring chains.

Pathway to Tangible Collaborations

Dr. Al Neyadi reaffirmed the UAE’s dedication to establishing sustainable partnerships to cultivate youth talent and innovation and increase the global competitiveness of young people. He stressed the investment in youth is essential for sustainable development in the UAE and around the world.

The ministers demonstrated optimism in translating these conversations into tangible projects that would enable cross border youth collaboration especially in sectors aligned with future skills.

As Nigeria and the UAE look toward a common future, their revitalized attention to youth development and empowerment is a clear statement of their faith in young people as agents of global change.
