South African Airways (SAA) has announced a new international Cape Town – Mauritius route to take place on 9 December 2025. This will be the first time that the national carrier will connect these two popular destinations directly to meet the increasing demand for leisure travel from the Western Cape.
What’s the Flight Schedule and Timing?
The service will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays between Cape Town International Airport and Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport in Mauritius.

There will be a temporary reduction in the frequency to two times a week during the period mid-January to mid-March 2026 due to lower demand expected for that season.

SAA said this route is a strategic move to bolster regional tourism while also fulfilling growing demand for holiday travel. “Flying from Cape Town to Mauritius is an exciting accomplishment that our team has worked towards for a long time,” said the airline.
