The match ended in victory for Morocco after two second-half headers from AbdelmounaBoutouil and captain Ayoub El Kaabi secured victory for the Atlas Lions to win the tournament in Cameroon. Although the Mali Eagles showed extraordinary determination in the first half under the control of the Atlas Lions of Morocco, they were unfortunately defeated. Both teams have made strong attempts to score in the first half to the touch, and each group outlined an interesting game.
Morocco took the lead in the 69th minute when AbdelmounaBoutouil scored headergoal. Captain Ayoub El Kaabi scored 10 minutes later with another header to give Mocoro a 2-0 lead, and they eventually won the trophy.
Although the Eegles of Mali put in a great performance and did everything they could to win the trophy, they felt that their luck was out of the final. But last but not least Morocco in 2018 also beat Nigeria 4-0 in the 2018 CHAN final in Casablanca. One of the most exciting CHAN finals of the modern era, played on the drums of Africa, Mali and Morocco presented a spectacular miracle that delighted the interest of football on the continent.
According to cafonline.com, Mali grew in confidence minutes after talented playmaker Demba Diallo was freed after taking over from Namsaoui before firing a shot at 20 yards as they continued to put pressure on North Africa. Goalkeeper Diarra was called upon to take a confident save from a beautiful cross from Hafidi before Diallo’s header found a cross from the right in the 36th minute. The Moroccans regained control of the game but center-backs Doumbia and BarouSanogo dealt well with their long balls before the break.
