Nollywood actor and social media personality Uche Maduagwu revealed that he got arrested by security operatives for coming out as gay. He announced the news on his Instagram account on July 7, 2022.
He reportedly wrote on Instagram, “I was arrested this afternoon by security operatives for coming out as gay and for telling US President Joe Biden to sanction Buhari over Bauchi undemocratic sharia judgment on LGBT.” He condemned the Sharia court ruling that sentenced a man in Bauchi, a city in northeast Nigeria, to death for being gay.

Maduagwu recently revealed his sexuality on social media. On Monday, Maduagwu surprised his fans again when he declared that he is gay. His declaration came barely one year after he publicly denied being gay.
